Virtual Painting Classes: Join us for a 3-week virtual painting workshop!

Virtual Painting Classes

Each week, artist Jolyn Fry will discuss materials and do a live painting demo. Week one will cover the basics of how to start a painting and composition.  Week two and three, we will talk about color mixing and paint application. Students will be asked to find still life objects in their house to paint. For example: plants, flowers, rocks, mugs, fabric, or bowls.

Throughout the class time, Jolyn will check in with students and invite them to share their progress and ask questions. Students may also email photos of their artwork for written feedback, and will have access to the instructors β€œhow to paint” YouTube tutorials.
This class is open to all skill levels. Although geared towards beginners, returning students and/or those with previous painting experience are welcome to join.

If you are interested, please apply at the registration form below by March 29, 2021 and we will follow up with you as soon as we can. Please register early, as space is limited. We encourage everyone interested to apply, and we are especially devoted to making our events accessible to and inclusive of BIPOC and LGBTQ+ folks.
In order to increase accessibility, like all offerings from East Portland Collective, this class is FREE and all painting supplies will also be provided at no cost to the participants! A special thank you to the East Portland Action Plan for their generous support in making this event possible!
